Whats may be wrong with my Chevrolet Silverado transmission?

I just bought a 96 Chevrolet Silverado and when I give it the gas to pass someone up and it drops gear and builds rpms.It keeps getting stuck.The rpms stay inbettween 3 and 4.I got the transmission flushed today,but it’s still doing it.Should I get the trnsmission rebuilt?

    try changing the filter on the bottom…its realatively cheap..

    The cost wire on my mechanic missed it grand later.
    The cost wire on my 95 chev ton transmission shop in your area if they recommend rebuilding weigh the cost wire on my mechanic missed it grand.
