Chevrolet Suburban - a Smart Choice

chevrolet
Kathy Austin asked:

Something that also brought a bright future for Chevrolet is the Chevrolet Suburban keychain. This is a keychain range which consists of seven extremely well crafted designs. The ranges offer two colors. Both the colors are universally liked by Car and speed lover i.e. black and silver.

Chevrolet Suburban is the largest Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) from Chevrolet. This company has been there in United States since 1935. Chevrolet Suburban was first introduced as the Chevrolet Suburban Carryall in 1935. Suburban has been produced under this name for a most anticipated and bright future for Chevrolet.

If you are not too much into style and want something simple you can go for the Chevrolet Suburban leather silver keychain or for the Chevrolet Suburban leather gold keychain. Both the keychains are set in absolute black leather of the best quality and gives you that posh look.

If you are someone, who wants to look different you can go for the Chevrolet Suburban metal oval keychain. This has a mosaic look at the base and a black circle on top, which makes it unique.

If black is not the color of your choice then this range has three silver keychains. These three keychains are very different from each other and each has an appeal of its own. The Chevrolet Suburban valet key chain and the Chevrolet Suburban teardrop key chain have that perfect look for those, who like to leave their keychains hanging from pockets, or who like to use them as zipper accessory.

The best of the lot and the most unique is the Chevrolet Suburban Steering wheel keychain. This looks like a real steering wheel and is tiny and yet is very attractive. For people who love to sport that speed look, this is a great accessory to have.

The Chevrolet Suburban Chrome circle keychain is another design which is there for those who love simplicity and black. All the keychains can be engraved with anything that you want.

The key chains are ones with novelty that will keep the keys in order and in style. They are beautiful pieces of art. The silver key chains have a solid ring with the logo and Suburban written on it. The name and logo is a perfect harmony with the Chevrolet Suburban keychain. The key ring is made of extraordinary quality of stainless steel. It is definitely an excellent piece of accessory that should be bought.

Chevrolet Suburban key chains make a wonderful gift to the guests and friends. It is unique and people can use and take them wherever they go. You can get anything you want engraved on this and give it that personal touch. If you own a Chevrolet car, this makes your car and your look complete. It gives you the custom made finish with all that you want engraved behind it, and all this for a cost of just a few dollars.

Confused about what to present your son, neighbor, husband or boss, give them one of these key chains and you are sure to make their day.

I have a 1990 Chevrolet G20 van. My dad has rebuilt the motor, changed the transmission fluid and filter, put new plugs and wires, put a new radiator on and several other things. It acts like it does not want to pull hills and stuff. We can not figure out what might be wrong.

Chevrolet Cobalt is 4th Most American Car

chevrolet
Iver Penn asked:

Is the Chevrolet Cobalt American-made or not?

Now the internet world will be finding out what the folks in the Mahoning Valley have known for a long time, that the answer to the question is yes, the vast bulk of the Chevrolet Cobalt is American-made.

The General Motors Corp. Lordstown-built small car ranked fourth on the list released Friday by Cars.com among vehicles with the highest American content at 82 percent.

The study helps consumers identify the top ten vehicles which are truly the most American in terms of their parts (like GMC exhaust tip for instance), where they are produced, and their popularity with U.S. buyers. The study is the third done by the Web site since June 2006.

Cars.com’s American-Made Index highlights the cars that are built in the United States, have the highest amount of domestic parts, and are bought in the largest numbers by Americans. In order to make it to the list, cars must have a domestic-parts-content rating of 75 percent or more. Cars.com also used the figure alongside the window sticker of new cars to determine a car’s domestic parts content. If a car is going to be discontinued in the near future, it was also disqualified.

GM grabbed four of the top five spots, with Ford and Toyota both taking three spots, the study showed.

Ford’s F-150 pickup truck had the most American content at 90 percent. Japan’s Toyota Camry (75 percent) and Camry Solara (80 percent) were No. 2.

The Camry had less U.S. content than the Cobalt but outranked the Cobalt in sales, 144,362 to 79,257, for the year through May. Camry sales don’t include hybrid models.

Chevrolet’s Silverado 1500 pickup truck, built at Fort Wayne, Ind., and Pontiac, Mich., ranked third with 90 percent U.S. content.

The F-150 and Silverado rankings are based on estimated sales and/or production data,Cars.com said. The top four placers all held the same positions in the December study.

The Ford Focus, which wasn’t ranked in December, took fifth at 75 percent.

The next five were the Toyota Sienna, sixth; Chevrolet Malibu and Malibu Maxx, seventh; Pontiac G6, eighth; Ford Escape, ninth, and Toyota Tundra, 10th.

The ranking wasn’t a surprise to Lordstown spokesman Tom Mock, as according to him, it just highlights the importance of the complex and the entire U.S. auto industry.

‘‘We think it’s important not just for manufacturers of vehicles but for manufacturers of parts, too,’’ he said. ‘‘For every job at Lordstown, 7.1 jobs are created in other industries, most of those in parts-related industries.’’

The Lordstown complex employs 5,000 hourly and salaried workers at the assembly and metal stamping plants, as well as nearby suppliers such as Intier and Lear.

Chevrolet Camaro Convertible to Debut at the 2007 Naias

chevrolet
Shane Morgay asked:

In the news: The Chevrolet Camaro concept was one of the vehicles that received high praises during the 2006 American Auto show. And for this year, it is expected that the Camaro will once again reign. This time however, it’s going to be the Camaro convertible.

The Chevrolet Camaro convertible concept is to debut on the eve of the North American International Auto Show at GM Style which is an exclusive fashion-splashed event that combines celebrities, couture and automobiles. Chevrolet is optimistic with its new Camaro convertible and announced that they already made production plans for it. They further stated that if things will go smoothly with the production then the US auto market can expect it by 2009.

The Camaro convertible concept was derived from the original Camaro concept with little changes to make way for the convertible body style. In terms of exterior dimensions, the Camaro convertible and the original Camaro concept basically are the same L/W/H: 4,730/2,022/1,344 mm. Their only difference is the windshield since the convertible concept’s features a bright anodized finish and altered slightly to make room for the convertible top. The Camaro convertible concept is going to be equipped with a potent V-8 engine that powers the rear wheel via manual transmission. It will also feature a four-wheel independent suspension system and a four wheel disc brakes.

The convertible will also feature sophisticated Chevrolet Camaro accessories with some additional design details that include: tonneau cover, “Halo” headlamps, LED tailamps, rear spoiler with LED-lit CHMSL, racing-inspired fuel filler door, front-inlet hood scoop (inspired by the Corvette Z06), and a heritage-inspired rear fender grills. The Hugger Orange pearl tri-coat color of the Camaro convertible was more of a contemporary update of the classic hue offered in 1969.

The twin gunmetal gray sport stripes together with its classic color accentuate the Camaro’s heritage and help it in portraying a contemporary look. The Camaro convertible is equipped with 21 inch front wheels and 22 inch rear wheels that have a deep-dish, five spoke design with charcoal center sections with bright outer edges and an orange outline on the wheel edge.

According to Ed Welburn, GM Vice president, Global Design, “The best follow-up to last year’s award-winning Camaro concept is a Camaro convertible. The Camaro convertible concept instantly evokes an emotional response - it’s a vehicle that you want to make room for in your garage.”

Jeff Green No. 66 Chevrolet Darlington Raceway Preview

chevrolet
Anthony Fontanelle asked:

Jeff Green, the driver of No. 66 Best Buy Chevrolet Monte Carlo, spent Monday and Tuesday testing at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in preparation for the much-anticipated Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup event on the Memorial Day weekend.

Green, a stock car racer in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series, unofficially posted the eighth fastest time of the afternoon session, with a lap of 30.034 seconds at an average speed of 179.796 miles per hour. Green’s No. 66 Best Buy Chevrolet was the fourth-fastest among all Chevrolet teams on Monday. The car is equipped with refined race parts far from the performance of the Chevrolet pickup ring & pinion gear set.

It also was announced that the No. 66 Best Buy Racing team will take Chassis No. 409 to Darlington Raceway this weekend. The team tested with this chassis at Bristol Motor Speedway in March, and competed with it in the debut race of the Car of Tomorrow at Bristol. Green qualified ninth and finished sixth in said race tied with a sixth place run at the Phoenix International Raceway. It was his best finish for this year.

Green’s 1990 Nashville Speedway USA championship led to his first venture in NASCAR. For several years, he raced part-time in the Busch Series before thriving as a full-time driver in 1995 and 1996. He then went through a two-year NEXTEL Cup stint with Diamond Ridge Motorsports and Felix Sabates. Green returned to the Busch Series in 1999. In three seasons, he won the 2000 championship by 616 points, a series record which remained until last year. Additionally, he finished second twice.

When asked if he is still enjoying the Car of Tomorrow, Green answered: “Absolutely. We’ve got to work on getting more rear grip, which is what I was dealing with early on at Richmond, but our lap times were very competitive. We’re working on getting our brake issues fixed. I know Harold (Holly) and the guys would love to have had the whole week to focus on brakes before this weekend, so the test at Lowe’s (Motor Speedway) really added to their workload. It’s going to be a busy couple of weeks, especially when you add in the Dover test, but at least we’ve got a couple of races in Charlotte coming up and the guys will get to sleep in their own beds.”

How cool is it as a driver to have gone to Victory Lane at “The Lady In Black?” Green has this to say: “It’s an amazing feeling to win there. It’s one of those tracks that you saw on TV when you were growing up. Daytona, Bristol and Darlington - those are the “heritage” tracks where you really want to win. I mean, you want to win at every track, but winning at a place like Darlington is just special. It’s icing on the cake.”

Green is not the only excited person in the team. Harold Holly has this to say: “All those historical tracks like Darlington and Bristol, all those places, that’s something you can really go back and cherish. That day was a really special day, because Jeff and (Matt) Kenseth were really duking it out on the track. We had been leading that race and Kenseth got by us on a restart and took off. We got another caution and beat him out of the pits, and Jeff figured out what Kenseth had done to get by him the time before, and they had a pretty good duel going there at the end. We were really fortunate to win that race.”

Holly noted, “Bristol is one of the tracks where we haven’t won. We finished second there a couple of times. Bristol and Michigan (International Speedway) are probably the biggest two. Michigan is such a big track, and the surface is so challenging to get a hold on. If you win that race, you’ve really done your homework and your car’s right, your crew is right and it just takes everything being put together to win at a place like that.”
