Sales of the Monte Carlo (2 door) was poor.With poor sales come discontinuation of that model.So this begain the down fall,but NASCAR was already planning a “larger-more safe” car.Something simular to the cars of the 60’s.Thus the COT was born.
Some modern styling and some of the geometry from the 60’s and a lot of complaining.But the bottom line is the chance that restrictor plates are a thing of the past.
A car with safty features to protect our favorites as well as all the drivers.
Yes we are complaining but there is a good chance of better racing in the future.

I think because there are 2 cars this year, the COT and the CORN (car of right now) they wanted to give them different names because they are very different. Dodge did it too, the Charger and the Avenger.
